Free Standard for Accelerated 3D on the Web
From Slashgeo today I got this is really great news for the future of web3D!
The Khronos Group announced an initiative to create an open, royalty-free standard for bringing accelerated 3D graphics to the Web.
They are working on bringing OpneGL into JavaScript. By this it would be possible to implement real 3D directly in the browser without the use of any plugin.
I think this will be a realy big advancement for the spread of web3D to the masses. :) The days for platform dependent and/or crappy plugins are counted. :]
